When you upload a Google Takeout ZIP file to TakeoutReader, the file is read and parsed entirely using JavaScript running in your browser. The processing happens locally on your device using the browser's built-in file APIs. No data is ever sent to our servers or any third-party service.

Your report data is temporarily stored in your browser's session storage to persist through the Stripe payment redirect. This data is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab or click "Start over."
